And now it’s officially confirmed by both sides – Jay Dasilva, the Chelsea youngster who spent the entirety of last season on loan at Bristol City, has now made a permanent move to Ashton Gate.
The 21-year-old defender played a total of 28 games in the 2018/19 Championship season, and has proven to be a big asset to his team, netting three assists along the way.
But Dasilva is very much a star still in making. He joined Chelsea as an Under-13 player and has since won the UEFA Youth League twice, as well as lifting the FA Youth Cup on three occasions with the Blues. He even scored in the 2014 final.
As soon as he posted an Instagram snap with a heartfelt message about his permanent move, his ex-teammates and Championship stars rushed to congratulate him and wish him all the best.

I would like to thank every coach , teammate and member of staff I have ever worked with. A massive part of my development as a player and person over the years will always keep a special place in my heart for CFC. This is the right time for me to move on in my career and I can’t be more excited for the future ???.

Some players from the senior team were also there congratulating him with Callum Hudson-Odoi among the first onto to the scene, followed by Jack Clarke.
But they were not the only ones as his Instagram comments section was flooded with good wishes and good luck messages.
Dasilva spent seven years as a Blue and this transfer is surely a big step in his development.
