As reported by The Daily Mail, John Terry could leave Chelsea make a shock switch to Bournemouth this January.

What's the story?

With Nathan Ake returning to his parent club this January to compete for starts at Chelsea, Bournemouth have been left short in defensive areas and are now looking for solutions to that problem.

The Mail reckon at the top of their list this January is John Terry. They're said to have already made a loan enquiry to Chelsea to bring him to the south coast until the end of the season.

That's when Terry's contract expires and The Mail reckon as he eyes his next move, perhaps to the MLS, he would be hesitant to up and leave Chelsea in January.

Chelsea legend

Apart from a brief loan spell at Nottingham Forest in 1999, Terry has been a one club man up to now, having made a staggering 710 appearances for the Stamford Bridge side.

Along the way he became Chelsea’s highest ever scoring defender, netting 40 times for the club, typically from corners and free-kicks with trademark headers.

He’s captained Chelsea during their most successful period in history, lifting 14 major trophies including a European triumph in 2012.

If he does leave the Blues it would be an emotional farewell for a man who will go down in history as one of the club’s greatest ever players. Perhaps that's the reason why he isn't keen to leave the club of his own volition anytime soon, as reported by the Mail.
