Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has claimed that Real Madrid want to sign Chelsea duo Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard at the end of the season.

Real Madrid are currently 16 points behind Barcelona in La Liga, and it is understood that the reigning European champions will spend big in this summer's transfer window.

According to Balague, Chelsea pair Courtois and Hazard are both on their wishlist.

Courtois will see his contract at Stamford Bridge expire in the summer of 2019, and it is understood that the Belgium goalkeeper is interested in a return to Spain having thrived whilst previously on loan at Atletico Madrid.

Hazard, meanwhile, has a contract with the Blues until 2020, but the attacker is seen as a leading transfer target for Real Madrid, who are preparing for life after Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

Balague told Sky Sports:

"Real Madrid need big names and they have lined up Courtois, they want Hazard.

"Those are the kind of names they want for next season. Doesn't mean they will get them, but that's the shopping list they have."

Chelsea will welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge for the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Wednesday night.
