Just two players have started every Premier League outing for Chelsea this season - goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and left wing-back Marcos Alonso. While the latter is a vital part of the Blues' starting XI, his ever-presence this season is also telling of the limited depth in that department; when Alonso has been rested, Antonio Conte has mostly turned to Davide Zappacosta - bringing the right footer over to his less preferred flank.

But once the Champions League gets underway again, Conte will have to make tough decisions as Chelsea's fixture schedule becomes more congested.

Alonso needs to be rested at some point this season and while Zappacosta represents an acceptable option, he's not the most convincing either - purely because he must come inside on his right foot rather than provide the width expected of wing-backs.

But Conte's hands aren't completely tied, something Kenedy proved last night with an impressive performance against Norwich in an FA Cup Third Round replay. The prodigious Brazilian is yet to feature in the Premier League this season and last night's performance raised questions as to why.

After all, Kenedy was amongst Chelsea's most consistent offensive threats against the Canaries, assisting Michy Batshuayi's opening goal with a low cross and finishing up with three created chances, three shots, two dribbles and two accurate crosses to his name. That's the kind of attacking output Chelsea have come to expect from Alonso over the last 18 months.

Defensively, Kenedy was a little more suspect, making just one tackle and one interception before being subbed off in the 85th minute - which is perhaps why Conte hasn't trusted the 21-year-old in the Premier League this season. But with a hectic schedule on the horizon, Kenedy has shown he can deliver for the Blues in the right games - its just a matter of Conte rotating him and Alonso effectively.
