Eden Hazard has announced he will be staying at Chelsea despite a poor season in West London, as reported by the Sun.
The Belgian was perhaps the biggest disappointment of an awful season for the Blues, who meekly surrendered their title to the most unlikely of usurpers in the shape of Leicester City.
After thrilling the footballing world with a series of scintillating performances, the 25-year old’s dramatic dip in form this season was one of the main reasons the club could not compete at the top of the league.
Big money moves to the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid were mooted, though the former Lille winger has committed to the Blues as Antonio Conte gears up to arrive at Stamford Bridge.
Despite his dip in form, being able to call upon the winger will likely be a huge boost for the Italian coach and a very welcome boost.
“I have a contract until 2020, I feel good here and I don’t want to finish on a season like that”, roared Hazard.
“I left Lille as a boss, and I’d like to leave Chelsea as a boss, if I do leave one day. But for the time being I’m here, of course.”
