Chelsea goalkeeper Marco Amelia has revealed that AC Milan’s teenage sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma is being “talked about” behind the scenes in west London.
The 16-year-old stopper is currently considered to be one of the brightest talents in world football after bursting onto the scene in October, becoming the youngest player in the history of Italian football to start a top tier match.
Donnarumma has since gone on to hold down a regular role at Milan, putting himself ahead of experienced Spaniard Diego Lopez in terms if appearances this term.
And speaking to Milan Channel, Amelia revealed that his performances have not gone unnoticed at Chelsea:
“Perhaps he’s spoken about more abroad,
“I’m here in London, and he’s talked about so much by our scouts here in London and by our goalkeeping coaches.”
Amelia himself has only been at Chelsea since late last year after a brief period without a club.
The 33-year-old was a part of the Milan side that won the Serie A title in 2010/11.
