Chelsea fans have had their say on the latest news that Cesc Fabregas has been left out of the Spain squad, with Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera included ahead of the former Barcelona player.
Herrera looks set to win his first senior cap for his national side after an impressive start to the season under new manager Jose Mourinho. Fabregas, on the other hand, has been a regular for La Furia Roja for the past decade, but after struggling to cement his place in Antonio Conte’s first team, he has been left out.
Fabregas wasn’t the only Chelsea player to be overlooked by new Spain boss Julen Lopetegui as defender Cesar Azpilicueta failed to obtain a place in his squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Italy and Albania.
Azpilicueta first received a call-up in 2013 after impressing then Spain boss Vincent Del Bosque but once again finds himself on the outside looking in.
Chelsea fans have taken to social media to express their discontent with Lopetgui’s selection with some even comparing the decision to a recent England news…
The new Spain manager is clueless calls up Herrera and not Cesc…
