Mourinho could snap up midfield enforcer to save Chelsea’s season

Chelsea could launch a January move for experienced Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi with the Ligue 1 champions open to a deal, according to reports from BuzzSport.

The Blues have endured a woeful start to their title defence, picking up just 15 points from 15 games.

A major issue for Jose Mourinho has been the poor form of central midfielders Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas, and reports claim that Matuidi could be available to remedy the Portuguese tactician’s concerns.

It’s understood that the London giants are interested in the 28-year-old, who is known for his commanding performances in a deep-lying role.

However, Matuidi himself may be reluctant to leave PSG halfway through the season, with maintaining a spot in France’s squad ahead of EURO 2016 likely to be easier if he’s playing in his homeland in the run up to the tournament.
