Various reports have claimed Chelsea will try to swap Alvaro Morata for Gonzalo Higuain, but it could just be Maurizio Sarri’s biggest mistake since arriving at Stamford Bridge.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are very keen on landing Higuain, and will try to use Morata as part of the deal.
The Argentinian international has a great relationship with Sarri, after the pair worked together at Napoli.
Sky in Italy also claims Morata is keen to continue his career in Serie A, where he two league titles with Juventus.
However, shipping out a high-value asset for a 31 year-old who has never been tested in the Premier League would be a huge risk, and it might even put Sarri’s head on the chopping block if Higuain fails to settle.

Morata is not good enough for Chelsea. It was clear when he joined and it is even more evident now. Still, at 26 years old with 27 Spain caps, 12 major honours and well over 100 goals for club and country to his name, the striker will command a huge fee if the Blues offload him this summer.
His languid style, lack of confidence and inability to use his size effectively has hampered his progress in England, but a fresh start in a slower-paced league could get him firing again, and Chelsea should be looking for much more in return for his services than an ageing striker with no Premier League experience.
While there’s no question Higuain is an exceptional goalscorer, he has not been nearly as effective in Milan as he was for Sarri’s Napoli, grabbing just seven goals so far this season.
The 75-cap front man is a great passer as well as a clinical finisher, but Sarri showed at Napoli that his system is at its best with extremely pacey, agile attackers who press tirelessly, something Higuain simply isn’t.
Any move for Higuain will clearly be instigated by Sarri due to his affection for the player, but it would be a monumental gamble from the boss, and he would be much better served swooping for the unstoppable Mauro Icardi.
