Chelsea fans on Twitter have taken a moment to recognise the contributions of reserve goalkeeper Rob Green after the Englishman played a prominent role in the Blues' Europa League final celebrations.

The former West Ham shot-stopper joined the west Londoners last summer as third-choice goalkeeper but hasn't made a single appearance this season while missing out on a place in Chelsea's Europa League squad altogether.

That didn't stop the 39-year old from getting in on the celebration festivities as he ran onto the pitch in full kit to hoist the massive trophy into the air in front of his baying teammates.

Green even got his hands on the silverware before Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri as the experienced 'keeper enjoyed a few seconds of the limelight.

Signed for his experience and home-grown status, the popular dressing room figure has found a special place amongst Sarri's squad of superstars.

Despite playing a total of 0 minutes in a Chelsea shirt, Blues supporters were happy to commemorate the former England international's contributions this season.
