Diego Costa has been omitted from of Spain’s squad by manager Vincente del Bosque for their forthcoming fixtures against Belarus and Germany.
The forward’s Tesco own-brand hamstrings have been the talk of the season, with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho consistently stressing the fitness concerns surrounding Costa.
Mourinho has blamed his forward’s international commitments for his injury problems, suggesting that the 25-year-old isn’t up to the duel demands of international and club football.
And it would appear that these comments have had the desired effect as Costa will get to rest during the upcoming international break.
Spain Manager del Bosque said: ‘Costa has some annoyances,” before adding, ‘He is the first who is willing to be with us. Our idea is that all 23 players come to be useful.’
Spain squad: Casillas, De Gea, Casilla, Juanfran, Azpilicueta, Ramos, Pique, Albiol, Bartra, Alba, Bernat, Busquets, Camacho, Koke, Cazorla, Fabregas, Callejon, Nolito, Morata, Alcacer, Pedro, Raul Garcia, Isco.
