PSG to launch £60m Chelsea raid after World Cup

Chelsea could be set for a battle to keep Eden Hazard after the World Cup, with Paris Saint-Germain ready to offer £60m to snap up the attacker, according to reports from France Football.

The Belgium international was the Blues’ top performer last season, very nearly inspiring them to a Premier League and Champions League double.

His consistent and effective displays have had PSG on alert for some time, and it’s now understood that they’re ready to spend big to get him this summer.

With Hazard off to the World Cup a deal is unlikely to be reached until the tournament has finished, but the Parisians are already plotting a £60m offer.

They are also willing to offer the 23-year-old an annual salary of £12m, which could blow even Roman Abramovich out of the water.

Hazard himself may also be tempted by the move, with PSG emerging as a true European heavyweight following their 2011 Qatari takeover.

The versatile forward has also sparked rumours after falling out with Jose Mourinho late on last season, when he described Chelsea as a team not set up to play attractive football.

Hazard has experience in Ligue 1 after building his reputation with Lille, winning the title in 2011.
