The media have seemingly made it very clear that Chelsea are looking for a new striker in the January transfer window.Manager Antonio Conte appears to be hunting for a back-up to Alvaro Morata in case the Spaniard suffers an injury blow in the second half of the season. So far, the likes of Andy Carroll, Fernando Llorente and Christian Benteke have been floated in Chelsea's direction. Also, according to The Telegraph, the reigning Premier League champions have looked into a possible deal for Stoke City forward Peter Crouch. One thing that all those forwards have in common is power and height in the box.If these reports are to be believed, then that is the criteria that Conte is looking for.Gary Lineker, who played for Chelsea's London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for three years, appeared to poke fun at the club's pursuit of a new forward on Twitter.

If Chelsea do recruit a striker, then that would push Michy Batshuayi further down the pecking order.

That's if the Belgian stays at Stamford Bridge.
