Sky Sports pundit and Chelsea legend Dennis Wise has had his say on who should be the next Blues manager on Twitter.
It very much looks the Pensioners are going to be searching for a new gaffer soon as Maurizio Sarri appears set for a return to his homeland of Italy, becoming the next Juventus boss.
This comes after a largely successful first and seemingly-only season at Stamford Bridge for the 60-year-old, one in which he secured the west Londoners a return to the Champions League by both finishing in the Premier League top four and winning the Europa League – his team also reached the final of the Carabao Cup.
Here’s what Wise said about Sarri’s likely departure and who should replace him in SW6 in a Tweet on Monday evening:
Will be disappointed if Sarri goes. Chelsea are back where they belong in the CL & he also won his first trophy. The perfect replacement is already there, in Gianfranco Zola, he knows the young & experienced players well, also gained so much experience over the last few years.

It’s hard to argue with most of the contents of this smart post from the 52-year-old, but the part about Sarri’s successor is particularly spot on from Wise.
Watch the best fails from the world of indoor football in the video below…
He claims that the former banker’s current assistant Gianfranco Zola should take the reins and it makes utmost sense, as he is someone who knows the club inside and out to help them through a tricky season under the potential two-window transfer ban.
Plus, there’s also no doubting Zola’s ability as a gaffer and in the Premier League too having nearly guided West Ham United to European football in his first campaign in east London. Roman Abramovich should give it to to the man Chelsea fans know as the “Magic Box”.
