Chelsea should consider swooping for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

What's the word?

There is a sense of limbo at Stamford Bridge at the moment due to the uncertainty over Antonio Conte's future as manager.

With that brings doubt over the players' positions in the team. For example, a recent report from L'Equipe claimed that Rabiot could be included in a deal that would see N'Golo Kante move to PSG.

The 23-year-old, who is valued at £45m by Transfermarkt, has been linked to Premier League clubs before.

The midfielder missed out on a spot in France's World Cup squad despite having a positive season for PSG.

Rabiot made 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and creating seven assists.

Is Rabiot a good fit?

As a replacement for Kante, the midfielder would not be a like-for-like swap.

Rabiot possesses defensive qualities in that he can hold on to the ball, but he also can pick out a pass for an attacking move.

Despite his young age, the midfielder is comfortable with the ball at his feet, and he also provides a strength from set pieces, which Kante does not.

Chelsea's current option is on the short side, but Rabiot towers at 6ft2, which gives him more of an advantage when balls are delivered into the box.

The uncertainty over the managerial situation could be a cause for concern, but Rabiot should certainly be an option for Chelsea.
