Real Madrid are considering a move for Chelsea forward and Everton target Romelu Lukaku, according to the Express.
The Spanish giants are reportedly preparing a £20million bid for the Belgian youngster, with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho having decided he will be sold this summer on a permanent deal.
Lukaku has spent the last two seasons out on loan, first with West Brom Albion, and then with Everton last season.
The Toffees had been expected to make the signing permanent, with Roberto Martinez desperate to capture the forward who scored 14 Premier League goals last season.
But now it looks as though Real Madrid could be about the hijack the move, as a replacement for Juventus-bound forward Alvaro Morata.
Carlo Ancelotti wants to bring in striking reinforcements to support Karim Benzema, and also has his eye on Monaco striker Radamel Falcao.
The news will come as a blow to Everton, who are ready to make the £20million-rated forward their club record signing.
It remains to be seen whether a bid from Madrid materialises, and if so whether Lukaku would consider a move to Spain where he is unlikely to be considered first choice striker – as he would be at Goodison Park.
