Real Madrid to replace Man United target with Chelsea ace

Real Madrid will push a move for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard if they lose Gareth Bale at the end of the season, according to reports from The Express.

Manchester United are understood to be readying a £90m offer to lure the Welshman back to the Premier League next summer, with the Red Devils committed to a new ‘Galactico’ era as they set about moving back to the top of the English game.

Real are rumoured to be open to offloading Bale for a massive fee amid concerns that he’s no longer an ideal fit in Carlo Ancelotti’s team, but they will want a world-class replacement should a sale go through.

Hazard is seen as the major target at the Bernabeu, although it will take a fee to smash transfer record once again – Los Blancos have pushed the ceiling in recent years by spending £80m and £86m on Cristiano Ronaldo and Bale.

Real are long-term admirers of the Belgian, with rumours having suggested that they rivalled Chelsea for his signature in 2012.

The 23-year-old has since hit 35 goals in 126 outings and is considered to be one of European football’s top attacking midfielders.
