Real Madrid turn to £38m Chelsea star after missing out on Pogba

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has made contact with Chelsea over a shock £38m move for Nemanja Matic, according to Sport.

With that in mind, they are said to have cast keen eyes over the 27-year old’s situation in West London.

While he proved stoic during Jose Mourinho’s run to the title, his alarming dip in form was one of the major disappointments of last season.

Juventus are believed to have identified the former Benfica lynchpin as a potential Pogba replacement, while Mourinho himself was said to be considering a move for him, now in charge of the Red Devils.

The Blues themselves have brought in N’Golo Kante this summer in a bid to overhaul an engine room that served them so poorly last term.
