The Frenchman has completed an £8.5million move to Stamford Bridge after the Blues activated his buy-out-clause.
Remy – who had previously come close to signing for both Arsenal and Liverpool – will challenge Didier Drogba and Diego Costa for a first team place at Stamford Bridge, after Fernando Torres completed a move to AC Milan.
“I feel very happy and very proud,” Remy said. “When I heard Chelsea wanted to sign me I said ‘let’s go’ straight away because they are one of the best clubs in the world.
“I remember the amazing atmosphere at Stamford Bridge when I played there for Marseille and I can’t wait to play for the first time in front of my new fans.”
Remy caught the eye after a loan spell at Newcastle last season, where he fired 14 goals in 24 games. He joins Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas, Didier Drogba and Felipe Luis as the new signings at Stamford Bridge this summer.
