Revealed: 67% of fans feel Chelsea struggler Morata should be going to Russia

It is fair to say that Alvaro Morata has struggled with the burden of being the man expected to fill Diego Costa’s boots at Stamford Bridge and spearhead an elite attack throughout a season for the first time in his career.

It looked as if Chelsea had got the better forward in the summer when the Spaniard linked up with his former Juventus manager Antonio Conte at the Bridge while Romelu Lukaku reunited with the man who sanctioned his departure from the Blues, Jose Mourinho, at Manchester United.

It didn’t work out that way and although Lukaku remains unpolished somewhat, he wiped the floor with Morata in the goalscoring stakes and that resulted in the shy Spaniard being left out of his country’s squad for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

One man who was included up front is the aforementioned former Chelsea hero Costa so we asked you whether Morata should have been included in the squad.
