The Express have reported that Maurizio Sarri is set to become the new Chelsea manager and the deal is only being held up by outgoing boss Antonio Conte's payoff, for which he is due around £9m.

Sarri has reportedly agreed a two-year deal and will have a hard task on his hands to turn round the fortunes of this Chelsea side, who finished fifth in the Premier League last season.

He may also have some senior departures to contend with as The Daily Star have reported that Jose Mourinho and Manchester United are increasingly confident of signing Willian.

We asked Chelsea fans who they thought their club should sign this summer to mount a title challenge next season. Here's a rundown of the top three from our poll...

3. Jean Micheal Seri

Nice's 26-year-old central-midfield star has won plaudits across Europe for his performances in Ligue 1 recently and it would seem as though he will get a move from the side who finished 8th in the league last season.

The Daily Express recently reported that Seri has a release clause of just £35m that has put Chelsea and Arsenal on alert, although it expires on the 15th July so Chelsea will have to move quickly to please their fans.

2. Mauro Icardi

The 25-year-old Inter Milan captain was in blistering form last season, scoring 29 goals in just 34 league matches as Inter finished 4th in Serie A.

After his goalscoring exploits at club level, Icardi was a surprise omission from Argentina's World Cup squad for some and it looks as though those who doubted Jorge Sampaoli's decision will be proved right.

Icardi could be the perfect replacement for Alvaro Morata if Chelsea do not have the patience to wait for their £60m man to start firing, although Transfermarkt value Icardi at €95m.

1. Leon Bailey

The player most Chelsea fans in our poll wanted to see their club sign this summer may give you a clue as to what they think about the futures of Eden Hazard and Willian respectively.

Leon Bailey is an exciting, 20-year-old winger currently at Bayer Leverkusen but it looks as though he won't be sticking around at the BayArena for long.

The Jamaican scored 12 goals and created six assists in all competitions last season. If Chelsea are looking for a new winger this summer, he could be the perfect signing for Sarri to start his reign.
