Diego Costa was a key part of the Chelsea team during his three-year spell at Stamford Bridge.

The striker scored 58 goals and registered 24 assists in 120 appearances for the club before he returned to Atletico Madrid in January.

The controversial star spent four years at Atletico before returning to the Spanish club at the start of 2018, and he has since gone on to increase his goal tally to 74 in all competitions.

During a recent appearance on Sky Sports' The Debate, pundit Paul Merson suggested that Chelsea would be better equipped to challenge for the Premier League title if Costa was still at the club.
