The phrase ‘pick your battles’ seems very apt this week as Chelsea prepare to take on Liverpool twice in four days.

The first encounter between the two heavyweights will be staged at Anfield for the third round of the EFL Cup.

Then, on Saturday in the late Premier League kick-off, the pair will go head to head at Stamford Bridge.

For most clubs, the bread and butter of the league takes priority over cup competitions, and unfortunately for the EFL Cup, it is low down on the list of elite silverware.

Given that both Chelsea and Liverpool are unbeaten in the top flight, they will be determined to keep their runs going.

For Chelsea to get back to winning ways following Sunday’s goalless draw with West Ham United, they will need to be at full strength this weekend to defeat a Liverpool side in top form.

With that in mind, we asked you if manager Maurizio Sarri should tweak his team for the midweek cup clash or go all out in a bid to progress into the next round.

Judging by the outcome, a small majority of Chelsea fans believe that the league clash is much more important at this stage of the season.
