Revealed: Vast majority of Chelsea fans want Jan Oblak to replace Thibaut Courtois

Chelsea could be in for a busy summer in the transfer market following a disappointing campaign that has seen them fail miserably in their bid to retain their Premier League title, while they could still miss out on Champions League qualification.

There are certainly a few positions in the team that clearly need strengthening, but it would certainly be a surprise if goalkeeper was one.

Thibaut Courtois has been an impressive performer for the west London outfit since he came into the starting XI on a regular basis in 2014, but he has struggled at times this season and has come under criticism from his own fans on Twitter for some of his below-par performances.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak produced another brilliant display in his side’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final tie at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night, and his showing didn’t go unnoticed by Blues supporters, who urged their club to sign the stopper on Twitter.

We decided to ask Chelsea fans to vote on our poll about whether they would also like to see the 25-year-old, who has kept 26 clean sheets in 44 appearances in all competitions this season, to replace Courtois between the sticks next season, and a colossal 89% said they would.
