Saints full back tweets his love for Chelsea

Southampton left back Luke Shaw

Luke Shaw has paved the way for a move to Chelsea in the summer by admitting they are his second favourite team, behind current club Southampton.

The Daily Mail have reported that the left back was taking part in a Q&A on Twitter, and was asked who his favourite team were after Southampton. Shaw answered with one word, ‘Chelsea’.

The 17-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs this season, including the Blues. And it appears Shaw decided to use his Q&A to get Chelsea’s attention even more.

When asked who the best player he has swapped shirts with in the Premier League, Shaw said it was swapping with Chelsea left back Ashley Cole. Then when asked what his favourite colour was, the youngster responded ‘blueeeeeee’.

With fellow London club Arsenal also in the mix to sign the highly rated youngster, Shaw may be attempting to take matters in to his own hands by suggesting who he wants to play for next season.

Wenger will be hoping his relationship with Southampton will give him an added edge to sign the left back, after the Frenchman has signed both Theo Walcott and, more recently, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from the Saints. But with Shaw suggesting he wants a move to Chelsea, Wenger’s links with the club may be made redundant.

Shaw should feature in Southampton’s next match, which happens to be against Chelsea at the end of the month.
