Chelsea had been linked with a move for the Italian, as well as Manchester City.
The English pair had both been monitoring the 20-year-old, who scored 16 times for Milan last season, but the Serie A club have issued a statement on the Italian’s future to end speculation of a move away from the San Siro.
“There has been a meeting between (Milan vice president) Adriano Galliani, Stephan El Shaarawy and the young star’s entourage,” the club announced on their official website.
“Everything went well. Stephan has always been an AC Milan fan and has reiterated his determination to continue playing for the Rossoneri. That pledge was reciprocated by Milan, with conviction. Milan and El Shaarawy will move forward together, as they have since 2011.
“No more talk of the transfer market, no more rumours. AC Milan, the Rossoneri colours and the ‘Faraone’ will absolutely continue on together.”
Chelsea boss had been rumoured to want to bid for the Italian, after his pursuit of Edinson Cavani showed no progress of improving, but Milan’s firm stance on the attacker could warn off the Portuguese manager.
El Shaarawy signed a contract extension in February, keeping him at the club until 2018.
Should El Shaarawy move to the Premier League? Is he good enough for Chelsea or City?
