Stalled contract talks could see European giants swoop for Chelsea star

Chelsea are bracing themselves for a mega summer bid for star attacker Eden Hazard, with contract extension talks stalling due to salary demands, the Express reports.

The Blues could lose Hazard at the end of the season to the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, who have been linked with a move for the Belgian attacker in previous transfer windows.

Despite already earning £175,000-a-week, Hazard is keen on being paid more than summer signings Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas, who are being given a weekly salary of £200,000.

This has caused contract negotiations to come to a standstill, despite Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho insisting that Hazard was close to penning a new five-year deal.

The 25-year-old’s demands have therefore alerted European powerhouses Real Madrid and PSG, with both clubs capable of paying Hazard’s expected salary.

It does however, seem like Hazard wants to remain at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea fans will be hoping his manager can push the Chelsea hierarchy to splash the cash in order to keep their star player.
