N’Golo Kante was absolutely vital to Leicester City’s title triumph last season and he’s replicating that form this season again with Chelsea.
It’s a contribution that could see him pick up a Premier League winners’ medal for the second year in a row.
At Leicester Kante was given a free reign to cover every blade of grass and roam around every area of the pitch and it was a role that really enhanced the overall performance of his team.
This season at Chelsea he’s being ask to perform a much more disciplined role, holding his position in the middle of the park and allowing his teammates to be the ones to roam forward and create chances.
Despite the change in manager and change of role, his talent is shining through as this stat from @Squawka shows.
The French international is still leading the Premier League in terms of interceptions made with 44 so far this season. He has a long way to go to reach his total of 156 last year with Leicester but it shows that despite being asked to do a different job, he’s just as effective.
