Statistic is a good omen for Chelsea’s title push

After overcoming Crystal Palace at the weekend to win an eleventh consecutive game in the Premier League, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea are looking to be a sure-fire bet for glory come May and the omens look good for the Blues.

Since losing 3-0 to Arsenal in September, Chelsea have evolved into a completely different side and have shown no signs of decline as they aim to bring the Premier League trophy to Stamford Bridge for the second time in three seasons.

Sat with 43 points from their 17 matches so far, losing just twice, Chelsea have a statistic pointing in their favour which suggests Conte’s side will not be caught.

Whilst there is still 21 matches to be played in the Premier League, no side having this tally after 17 matches has failed to win the title come the end of the season and Chelsea’s advantage does appear to be too good to throw away.

With upcoming matches against Bournemouth, Stoke and Tottenham Hotspur, the Blues are also on course to set a Premier League record for the most consecutive victories in a single season- which is currently held by Arsenal, who won 13 matches in a row back in 2001/02.
