Struggling starlet could return to Chelsea this month

As reported by Mirror Football, Marco van Ginkel could be returning to parent club Chelsea this month after a half-season to forget with AC Milan.

The Blues purchased the Dutch international for £8million in summer 2013, but a serious knee injury in September ruled him out for the rest of the 2013/14 season and the World Cup.

The San Siro loan was an opportunity for the 22 year-old to regain his match sharpness, but a combination of further injuries and uneventful form has resulted in him totaling just 120 minutes in Serie A this term.

Despite Milan CEO Adriano Galliani recently describing the industrious midfielder as “a player with great talent,” manager Filippo Inzaghi has recently informed reporters in regards to a potential departure; “A decision will be made. He knows I can’t assure him playing time.”

Mirror Football claim Chelsea now want to find van Ginkel a different loan club.
