Terry to stay at Aston Villa if promoted to Premier League, Chelsea fans react

It was always going to be a sad moment for Chelsea fans when their hero John Terry signed for another club.

After leaving the West London outfit last year, the defender dropped down into the Championship to join Aston Villa.

The experienced centre-back, who won 15 trophies during his time at Stamford Bridge, signed a one-year deal with Steve Bruce’s side.

Aside from some injury problems, Terry frequently featured for the Midlands outfit this season, making 33 appearances in the second tier.

Not long after ending his Chelsea stay, the defender suggested that he would not join another Premier League club as he would not like to play against the Blues.

Villa are potentially two wins away from returning to the top flight as they have a 1-0 advantage in the playoff semi-finals against Middlesbrough.

Terry has since told the club’s official website that he intends to stay if Villa secure promotion.

“I hope this isn’t the end. If we go up, I’m staying. And hopefully I can play for a few more years in the Premier League.”

Chelsea fans have posted their thoughts on the situation via Reddit.
