The man to help Chelsea fans forget about Lampard

Chelsea’s official vine profile have just published their goal of the season from the last campaign.

No it wasn’t Samuel Eto’o’s first in Chelsea 6-0 thumping of Arsenal, or Demba Ba’s opener in the crucial victory at Anfield.

The winner of the goal of the season award was Under-21 player Lewis Baker, and a glance below will show why.

The midfielder has yet to make a Premier League appearance for the club but has already captained his country at Under-20 level.

Baker had a phenomenal season for the Chelsea Under-21s last season, which led to Mourinho bringing him with the senior squad during the summer’s per-season tour.

The Chelsea manager said of some of the young players at the club:

‘My conscience tells me that if, for example, Baker, Brown, and Solanke are not national team players in a few years, I should blame myself’.

If this goal is anything to go by, we should expect big things from Baker too.
