The SIX ‘young prodigies’ on Chelsea’s transfer radar

If there’s been one permanent side-effect from Chelsea’s ascension to the Premier League’s summit since Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich took over in 2003, it’s the inability of the Stamford Bridge youth system to bring young players through to senior level.

Barring regular bench-warmer Ryan Bertrand, the last academy product to make a name for himself at West London was John Terry – and his debut came back in 2008!

With the financial side of the Premier League becoming ever-more demanding, and the UEFA’s Financial Fair Play laws quickly looming in, having a prominent youth set-up is becoming more and more important, as is the need to have home-grown talents as a strong contingent of the first team.

With that in mind, here’s SIX home-grown prodigies who could right some academy wrongs at Stamford Bridge.
