Even before the days of Roman Abramovich, Chelsea have always boasted some of the most talented strikers in the Premier League.

Indeed, the likes of Tore Andre Flo, Gianfranco Zola, Mark Hughes, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink all served the Blues exceptionally well.

And since Abramovich's oil-funded revolution transformed the club, Stamford Bridge has been graced by arguably the best front-men around - not least including Andriy Shevchenko, Nicolas Anelka, Didier Drogba, Fernando Torres and the Blues' current talismanic goalscorer Diego Costa.

But what about those strikers Chelsea fans don't quite enjoy watching so much - most specifically, those goalscorers who have caused the west London club relentless heartache throughout the years by continually finding the net against the west Londoners on behalf of their domestic and European rivals?

With that in mind, and aided by our mates at TransferMarkt, FootballFanCast have taken a look at the ten strikers with the most prolific scoring records against the Blues. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United favourites feature in our top ten, but there are plenty of surprises along the way.

10. Ian Wright - 14 Apps, Eight Goals

Ian Wright

Ian Wright's goals-to-games ratio is one of the most impressive on this list, with a record better than one-in-two. The retired striker faced Chelsea regularly throughout the 1990s, during his spells with Arsenal and West Ham.

9. Javier Hernandez - 13 Apps, Eight Goals, One Assist

Super-sub Javier Hernandez was renowned for his prolific contributions from the bench for Manchester United. He netted past the Blues in the Premier League, League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League during his four seasons at Old Trafford.

8. Carlos Tevez - 12 Apps, Eight Goals, One Assist

FC Barcelona v Juventus - UEFA Champions League Final

Carlos Tevez represented both sides of the Manchester divide during his affluent spell in England. He failed to score past Chelsea during his loan stint at West Ham but bagged two goals for United and six for the Citizens.

7. Wayne Rooney - 34 Apps, Nine Goals, Four Assists

Wayne Rooney creeps into the top ten but has made the most appearances against Chelsea of any player on this list. Indeed, it's taken him 34 outings to play a part in just 13 goals - a rather disappointing return considering how important meetings between United and the Blues have been in deciding silverware over the last decade.

6. Teddy Sheringham - 25 Apps, Nine Goals

Teddy Sheringham

Another striker who has benefited from the sheer volume of his outings against the Blues. Teddy Sheringham faced Chelsea 25 times with Nottingham Forest, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham but failed to get on the score sheet for the latter club.

5. Thierry Henry - 19 Apps, Nine Goals, Three Assists

Chelsea have often got the better of Arsenal since Roman Abramovich's oil billions revolutionised the club. But previously, the Blues often found themselves on the end of disappointing defeats, with Theirry Henry leading the scoring. One of the greatest Premier League forwards of all time, he contributed to twelve goals in 19 outings against the Stamford Bridge outfit.

4. Sergio Aguero - 13 Apps, Nine Goals, Three Assists

Sergio Aguero

Sergio Aguero's record against the Blues stems back further than his Premier League career, once bagging a brace for Atletico Madrid back during the 2009/10 season. He's gone on to add a further seven to that tally for Manchester City, including a famous hat-trick at the Etihad Stadium at the start of last term.

3. Alan Shearer - 24 Apps, Ten Goals, One Assist

Alan Shearer inevitably pops up on lists of this variety - a side-effect of being the Premier League's all-time record goalscorer. And in typical Shearer fashion, his return against the west Londoners is pretty solid, falling just short of a one-in-two strike-rate.

2. Louis Saha - 22 Apps, Ten Goals, One Assist

Sunderland v West Bromwich Albion - Barclays Premier League

Perhaps the least expected inclusion on this list, Louis Saha was a lethal front-man at his peak but probably won't be remembered in the same company as the rest of the top ten. Nonetheless, you can't argue with the numbers - ten goals in 22 outings against Chelsea. Curiously, however, none of those goals came whilst he served as the talismanic striker at the Blues' local rivals, Fulham.

1. Ian Rush - 20 Apps, Ten Goals, Four assists

Liverpool Legends v Liverpool International Legends - 'Celebration of the 96' - Hillsborough Memorial 25th Anniversary Charity Match

So there you have it, Liverpool legend Ian Rush tops our list with a phenomenal record against the Blues. His one-in-two strike rate is impressive enough, but the Welsh wizard also contributed four assists, making him in some way responsible for 0.7 goals per appearance. Deadly.
