Chelsea secured a place in the Champions League next season after beating Watford comfortably at Stamford Bridge at the weekend, before Arsenal drew at home with Brighton to cement the Blues’ place in the top four.
The prospect of playing in the top tier of European football will undoubtedly raise the profile of player the west London outfit will be chasing, despite a potential transfer ban looming over the club.
Regardless of the uncertainty going into the summer window, Chelsea fans are still calling for signings to be made to strengthen a squad in real need of a refresh.
But it’s title-chasing Manchester City who appear to have made the first move in the transfer market, with reports from The Guardian stating the current league champions are closing in on a £47.2m deal for Bruno Fernandes.
And Chelsea fans took to Twitter to state their frustration that a player of his calibre looks set to move to the Etihad over Stamford Bridge…
Man City signing Bruno Fernandes for €55m (£47m) is an ABSOLUTE steal if you ask me. Someone like him would thrive at Chelsea under Sarri.
