Three former Chelsea players Maurizio Sarri must re-sign this summer

Prospective new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri could be in for a busy summer transfer window if he replaces Antonio Conte, as he looks to make the club Premier League title challengers again following a miserable defence of the top flight trophy they won in 2017 last term.

The Daily Mail reports that the former Napoli boss has already identified some of the names he would like to bring to Stamford Bridge when he gets the job, and knowing the window shuts early on August 9 he will want to get to work straightaway.

The 59-year-old will be working in conjunction with director Marina Granovskaia to identify the individuals that will help the club, who have been urged to sign a speedy £13.5m Premier League flop by the fans, take that step forward so they are competitors for the Premier League title and in the Champions League, and strengthening out wide and up top may well be his priority.

While the Italian will have the stars in mind that he wants to bring to west London, perhaps he should also be considering bringing some familiar faces back to Stamford Bridge too, as there are plenty of ex-Blues out there that would make a big difference for them on the pitch now in their bid to win more trophies.
