Chelsea's season has completely U-turned and now the Blues have become Premier League title favourites after overcoming a turbulent start to Antonio Conte's tenure.

The Londoners have now recorded eleven straight victories in the Premier League and most notably, only conceded two goals during that time. Nonetheless, believing Chelsea don't need to improve would be rather naive and foolish.

They say most teams are at their most vulnerable while winning and that could prove the case for Chelsea if they rest on their laurels and allow their title rivals to close the gap at the summit of the table.

Everything at Stamford Bridge looks rosy, but some frailties remain within the first-team squad and club that should be amended in the New Year.

With days remaining in 2016, here are THREE things Chelsea need to improve on during 2017 to guarantee their progression continues further...

Quality of transfers needs to improve

N'Golo Kante v Hull City

Except for N'Golo Kante, Chelsea failed to secure their first choice targets during the summer.

Serie A defenders Leonardo Bonucci and Kalidou Koulibaly were, it was widely reported, wanted, but neither deal could be struck before the close of the window.

Instead, David Luiz was re-signed and thankfully the Brazilian has become a rock at the heart of Chelsea's defence, but the Blues won't be as lucky every time they are unable to close a high-profile transfer.

Start signing world-class players once again

Not many can deny the impact players like Victor Moses and Gary Cahill have had on this Chelsea side this season.

Nonetheless for Antonio Conte to take Chelsea to the next level, he must sign world-class players capable of doing that.

A top quality central defender and right-back capable of functioning in Conte's 3-4-3 system could be essential components to guaranteeing success long-term.

Promote more youngsters

Not many can deny Chelsea's run has been impressive, but allowing some of the club's academy prospects the chance to shine in Conte's system is something that the Italian could change.

It's much easier for Conte to allow his youngsters the opportunity to impress and shine when the side is winning, but if results start to slide, kids may find the pressure too difficult to overcome.

Just a thought, Antonio!
