Top Chelsea managerial target wants amazing attacking duo to transform Blues

Diego Simeone wants Marco Reus and Edinson Cavani as two marquee names to kick off his era at Chelsea if he’s named as the Blues’ next boss, according to reports from Don Balon.

The Argentine has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge from Atletico Madrid for some time, and is even thought to be owner Roman Abramovich’s top choice.

But, with the London club having struggled this season, ‘Cholo’ wants big names to help him revive the current Premier League champions’ fortunes, with reports claiming that Reus and Cavani are his top targets.

It’s understood that Simeone has been keen to lure both players to Atletico for some time, but has been unable to pull of deals despite dragging the Rojiblancos into the often Barcelona and Real Madrid-dominated La Liga title race.

Reus, of Dortmund, is a Germany international and operates in an attacking midfield role.

Striker Cavani netted Paris Saint-Germain’s winning goal in Tuesday’s meeting between the Ligue 1 side and Chelsea, and reports have since claimed that Abramovich himself is keen on the Uruguayan.
