A lot is being made of the way in which Jose Mourinho has transformed Chelsea since he rejoined the club 18 months ago.
He’s let a whole host of high profile names go through the exit door at Stamford Bridge, including Juan Mata, Michael Essien, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and Romelu Lukaku.
And he has replaced them with players who currently appear to be capable of winning a Premier League title this season.
But yesterday’s deal that saw Andre Schurrle leave Chelsea for Wolfsburg means you can name field an entire starting XI of Mourinho’s Stamford Bridge rejects.
And it’s fair to say that the XI below would give most sides in Europe a run for their money. It’s like a dream team of unwanted Chelsea class.
Could this team mount a serious challenge for a top four spot in the Premier League? You’d be mad to write them off, surely?
