Diego Costa is well established as one of world football's most revered strikers.

He fired Atletico Madrid to a shock La Liga title and almost the Champions League title before moving to Chelsea in summer 2014, where he has since bagged 39 goals in 62 Premier League appearances.

That includes seven strikes in the English top flight this season, making him the Premier League's current top scorer.

And the feisty Spaniard's fine run of form under Antonio Conte has got us at FootballFanCast thinking - most specifically about which clubs Costa has tormented most since his arrival in west London two years ago.

But as you'll see from our gallery, Costa's scoring record, at least in terms of those he's found the net against, isn't quite as impressive as you might think.

Here's a rundown of the top ten clubs the 28-year-old has scored the most goals past. For a striker often described as world-class, Chelsea fans might be a little underwhelmed...

10. Leicester City - Four Apps, Two Goals

Ranieri

Costa found the net against Leicester City in the Premier League last weekend, bringing his total against the Foxes to two in four. Unfortunately, he couldn't get on the score sheet at the King Power Stadium last season - a 2-1 defeat that eventually cost Jose Mourinho his job.

9. Arsenal - Four Apps, Two Goals

Arsene Wenger

The only truly high-profile team to feature on this list, which can be explained by Arsenal's horrendous head-to-head record against the Blues. Costa's bagged two goals in four outings versus the Gunners, scoring one at the Emirates Stadium and one at Stamford Bridge.

8. West Brom - Four Apps, Two Goals, One Assist

Tony Pulis

Costa's record against West Brom narrowly outweighs the aforementioned clubs because of his one set-up versus the Baggies.

7. West Ham - Four Apps, Two Goals, One Assist

Slaven Bilic

From West Brom to West Ham, Costa's record versus the Hammers is identical. That includes a strike on the opening day of the current campaign, alongside another on Boxing Day 2014 as the Blues marched towards the Premier League title.

6. Newcastle - Three Apps, Two Goals, One Assist

Rafael Benitez

Poor old Newcastle, who have fallen victim to many of the Premier League's top strikers over the years - including Costa. He's been responsible for three goals in as many appearances against the Magpies, one coming in a 5-1 drubbing that pushed the Tynesiders towards relegation last season.

5. Aston Villa - Two Apps, Two Goals

Grimsby Town v Hull City - Pre Season Friendly

The Spain international has put Villa to the sword twice, with both of his goals coming in separate appearances. In other words, a 100% record against the now-Championship outfit.

4. Watford - Four Apps, Three Goals

Watford isn't too far away from Stamford Bridge and the relatively short journey appears to appeal to Costa. He bagged a brace against the Hornets last term and found a goal against them earlier this season.

3. Everton - Four Apps, Three Goals, One Assist

Ronald Koeman

To give credit where its due, Everton are no easy customers and the Chelsea star's record against them is certainly respectable, contributing to four goals in as many appearances. That includes two strikes from the famous 6-3 win over the Toffees at the start of the 2014/15 season.

2. Hull - Three Apps, Three Goals, Two Assists

AFC Bournemouth v Hull City - Premier League

Regular whipping boys of the top flight, it's no surprise to see Hull City so high up on this list. Costa's scored thrice against the Tigers and also amassed two assists, meaning he's played a part in five goals in just three appearances.

1. Swansea - Four Apps, Seven Goals, One Assist

Swansea City - Bob Bradley Press Conference

Largely due to a hat-trick and a brace over the Welsh outfit during his debut campaign, Swansea City are the club Costa's produced the strongest scoring record against. He also scored twice against them earlier this season - a match that ended in a controversial 2-2 draw.
