According to reports from The Daily Mail, Antonio Conte is set to hold private meetings with four key Chelsea players regarding their futures at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer transfer window.
The Italy gaffer was announced as Chelsea’s next manager earlier this week, set step down as Azzurri boss and take over at Stamford Bridge after the summer’s European Championship in France.
According to The Daily Mail, the 46-year-old made a surprise visit to the west London club’s training complex, Cobham, on Tuesday to introduce himself to the players.
He is keen to discover who remains committed to staying on with the reigning Premier League champions and who will look to move elsewhere in the coming transfer window.
Accordingly, private meetings will take place between Conte and four key Chelsea stars – captain John Terry, top goalscorer Diego Costa, talismanic winger Eden Hazard and midfield enforcer Nemanja Matic – to decide where their futures lie.
Terry’s contract is yet to be renewed beyond the summer and Matic’s sharp decline since last season has lead to speculation that he could move on.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid have made it clear they hope to re-sign Costa and Hazard has been attracting interest from PSG and Real Madrid throughout the campaign.
