Safe to say, it has not been a good season for Eden Hazard.
Struggling for fitness, form and at times, motivation, it took almost exactly a calendar year since claiming the 2015 PFA Player of the Year award for the Belgium international to find his first Premier League goal of the 2015/16 season – severely impacting Chelsea’s fortunes in the process.
But whether it’s the incentive of finding his best form before the European championships in France or perhaps even sealing a lucrative move to a foreign club during the summer transfer window, April and May have unexpectedly seen the winger-forward back to his world-class best.
It started with a resounding brace against Bournemouth and was followed up with a sensational second-half display against Tottenham Hotspur – including an equalising goal that ensured Leicester City this season’s Premier League title.
And the Hazard of old appears to be well and truly back in action, following yet another stellar goal against Liverpool this evening, opening the scoring with a stunning solo effort in the 32nd minute that sent Twitter into an absolute frenzy. Here are some of the best reactions from social media…
I much prefer football when Hazard has more goals than Huth. Finally I can enjoy life again.

If Hazard had hit this many goals in his first 3 games of the season rather than the last 3 I think Jose would still have a job.

End of the season. Sturridge fit. Eden Hazard scoring. You'd think there was something to play for this summer
