Valencia line up move for Chelsea star

Chelsea'sValencia are plotting an audacious swoop to re-sign Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata, according to reports from The Metro.

The Spaniard moved to Stamford Bridge from the Mestalla in 2011 after a successful spell with the club.

Despite enjoying two successful seasons in West London, new Blues boss Jose Mourinho has frozen the 25-year-old out of his first-team since taking control over the summer.

‘The Special One’ is believed to be unconvinced by Mata’s abilities, instead choosing Oscar frequently as his ‘number ten’ of choice.

The Spanish international has claimed that he is happy to bide his time and wait for a starting berth, but privately he is said to be keen to move on in search of regular action ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

This has alerted Valencia, who are keen to offer him the chance to move back to his homeland.

Los Che are currently gripped by financial worry, but are still plotting a move to bring their former idol back.

A January move is possible if the playmaker is still struggling for minutes this winter.

Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham are also believed to be keen on Mata.

Is Juan Mata too good to be on the bench? Has Jose Mourinho lost the plot?
