Wanted Chelsea forward in £7.6m deal with Euro giants

Chelsea striker Loic Remy is set to disappoint Premier League clubs by making a switch to Spartak Moscow, according to Russian news outlet Vesti.

The 29-year old marksman has been touted as a potential loan target for the likes of Southampton, Newcastle and Crystal Palace amongst others during this month’s transfer window.

However, per the Metro, reports suggest a deal for the former Queens Park Rangers forward has been agreed with Russian giants for a fee of around £7.6m.

The Frenchman finds himself behind Diego Costa in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and will be eager to secure as much first-team football as he bids to stake a claim in the Les Blues squad for Euro 2016.

He has only made nine appearances for the Blues this term and eight of them have come as a substitute, despite their miserable season and Costa’s lack of form for large parts of it.
