Chelsea’s shift works, Liverpool’s Palace joy… Five things we learnt on the weekend

What a weekend of football. Again we had games up and down the Premier League that thrilled, even though the fixture list, on paper at least, didn’t look overly enthralling.

The race for the title looks like it will be a widespread one, with Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool all winning to maintain their equal status at the top of the pile, while Chelsea did their bit by beating Southampton to stay within one point of the leaders.
