Raymond Verheijen has again ignited controversy by claiming that Arsenal are the reason for Aaron Ramsey’s latest injury. The Wales star was left on the bench for last night’s game with Leicester, but still managed to hobble off injured after being introduced in the second-half.
Verheijen has said that Aaron Ramsey should leave the Gunners if the club do not change their training methods. The former Wales assistant coach told BBC Sport:
“There are two solutions. Either Arsenal sort themselves out or Aaron has to go to a club… where training is more balanced.”
Raymond Verheijen seemed to lay the blame at Arsene Wenger and his coaching staff’s door by revealing that he sees the problem as one that stems from what the players do on the training ground and not down the medical team at The Emirates. Such comments are unlikely to please the Arsenal manager, who has consistently come into criticism for the frequency of injuries that his stars pick up.
Ramsey could now be a doubt for Wales’ game against Israel on 28 March in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.
