Southampton have come a long way in the past decade and a superb comparison has emerged following the Saints’ 2-1 win over Inter Milan last night which puts into perspective just how incredible the South Coast side’s rise has been.
Claude Puel’s men came from behind to emerge victorious against the Italian giants in a Europa League tie last night, giving themselves an advantage in their quest to qualify for the knock-out stages, and it was identified post-match how different the two sides were just seven years ago.

Southampton have come a long way since their days in League One, now standing as one of the better clubs in the Premier League, and they claimed a huge scalp yesterday with their victory over a struggling Inter Milan side.
Whilst the Saints have been on the rise, Inter have been declining in recent years as they’ve struggled to compete with Juventus domestically and have endured a long absence from the Champions League.
Sat fourth in the group, four points behind Southampton, Inter are at risk of an early exit from Europe which would see their troubles take a fresh turn for the worse.
