There is an odd atmosphere around South West London today.
A usually vibrant Kings Road, clouded with an air of anticipation, awaits the return of a legend.
That legend of course, is Jose Mourinho. Now of Manchester United, the ‘Special One’ – as he so confidently dubbed himself during his first spell at Chelsea – makes his eagerly awaited return to Stamford Bridge today for the first time in charge of a different club.
Once the king of the Bridge, Mourinho’s – the man who won three Premier League titles with the Blues in two illustrious spells at the club – crown now lies in Manchester.
His return signals possibly the biggest clash between the two clubs in modern times, especially considering both clubs who were once the two dominant forces in English football are in a period of change.
Manchester United’s new look side will be hoping they can take all three points away from Antonio Conte and his side as they look to really kick-start their season following a hit-and-miss start.
Chelsea, on the other hand, will want to continue their good form, and once again assert themselves as real contenders for this years title following their awful campaign of last.
The line-ups for both squads have been announced on the clubs’ respective Twitter pages. Here’s how they both line-up today…
