Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Le Buteur reported that there is a 'very big chance' that Schalke midfielder Nabil Bentaleb will join the Eagles this month.Le Buteur also mention that the south Londoners have 'made him a first offer to try and seduce him' - the news outlet also state that Selhurst Park is the 'most appropriate destination' for the 35-cap Algeria international.

The former Tottenham man is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Bundesliga side this season due to unprofessional behaviour, including being late and failing to report for German lessons according to Sky Sports.

Sky Sports also state that the 25-year-old is for sale and wants a move back to England.

Incidentally, Roy Hodgson has just lost a midfielder from his ranks after Victor Camarasa's loan spell ended and he joined Spanish side Deportivo Alaves until the end of the campaign, although it feels unlikely that the former England manager is desperately searching for a replacement given the former Cardiff man's slim influence at Selhurst Park - he played just five Premier League minutes before leaving.

Let's see how the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter reacted to the news on Bentaleb...

To begin the reaction to this transfer news, these two fans both felt that Bentaleb would arrive to provide competition to an area that doesn't really need anymore bodies.

Hodgson already has Luka Milivojevic, James McCarthy, James McArthur, Cheikhou Kouyate, Jeffrey Schlupp and Max Meyer at his disposal to play in midfield, so the Algerian would face huge competition for places if he joined the Eagles - Carl went as far as saying that "there's going to be a meltdown" if a centre-midfielder is signed before a full-back.

Elsewhere, Ben said that Bentaleb doesn't fit Hodgson's "style and system" before implying that the former Spurs man will spend some time on the bench.

Meanwhile, these two supporters both saw fit to mention Milivojevic.

One said "yes" after hearing the transfers news before saying "get Luka out of the team" - it seems as if this specific fan wants to see the Serbia international replaced.

Furthermore, the other supporter noted that Bentaleb's arrival would bring down the average age of the squad, before also mentioning Milivojevic by saying "surely a longer term Luka replacement?"

Lastly, Eric Terwilliger said that this is "exactly the kind of buy low, sell high signing" that the south London outfit need to be making.
