Safe to say, 2016 hasn’t been a particularly enjoyable year to be a Crystal Palace fan.
The Eagles may have reached last season’s FA Cup final but they’ve seen just five Premier League wins since the turn of the year – including a paltry three this season.
Accordingly, the South London outfit currently find themselves in 17th place, spared from a slot in the relegation zone by goal difference alone.
But there are two Premier League charts in which the Eagles are dominating this season, courtesy of two key players – namely, summer signings Christian Benteke and Andros Townsend.
The Belgium international’s performance against Swansea City last weekend may have come in for criticism, but according to data courtesy of EA Sports, he’s won the most aerial duels of any Premier League player this term – a staggering 108.
Townsend, meanwhile, has been keen to take advantage, attempting the most crosses of any player in the division, 89. However, only 17 – less than 20% – have found their target.
